4800 Oak Grove Drive, Pasadena
Event Date: Sunday, May 16th, 2010 at 9:00am

This extremely popular annual weekend event celebrates JPL's accomplishments with exhibits and demonstrations about the Laboratory's ongoing research and space exploration. Many of the Lab's scientists and engineers will be on hand to answer questions about how spacecraft are sent to other planets, how scientists utilize space technologies to explore Earth and how researchers are now searching for planets beyond the solar system. Visitors will see exhibits, displays, demonstrations and presentations about new technologies, solar system exploration, spacecraft communication and much more.

If you are a Princeton alum at JPL who will be at the JPL Open house this year let us know- so Princeton alums can swing by, say hello and learn about your field of workIn years past, Princeton Alums working at JPL have participated in the JPL Open House. (Last year Chad Edwards '79, a JPL employee, served as a host for the Deep Space Network exhibit area and Michael Hecht ’74 was at the Mars exploration exhibit  where he spoke about his experiences with Phoenix and the then most recent Mars lander mission.)

The Open House is a fun and educational experience for children too, with special hands-on activities designed for kids.  Food and beverages will be available for purchase, along with free and for purchase space souvenirs and NASA and JPL merchandise. Walking is required to all locations. JPL will provide special needs vans for guests with mobility challenges throughout the day. So make plans now to visit JPL and experience the thrill of space exploration
